Wasp Prevention

Wasp Prevention Cooper Pest Control’s unique treatment program prevents Wasps from building their nests on homes, decks, swing sets, storage sheds, etc. Areas prone to nest establishment are treated using a material which repels wasps when they land, making the surface an undesirable location to build a nest. One treatment will prevent nest development for up to six months. Your service plan extends through September. If during this time, Wasps, Carpenter Bees or Yellow Jackets nest in or on the structure, Cooper Pest Control will treat these areas at no additional charge. All you need to do is call and we will respond promptly to your request. Preventative Treatment Plus 2 Additional Services During the early spring, a preventative application is made to the 1st story. In addition, we will treat the 2nd story near "high profile" areas such as the entrance to your home. Applications target those areas where wasps, carpenter bees and yellow jackets are likely to build their nests. Although our goal is prevention, we know through experience a nest may occur occasionally. To address this, we are scheduling two additional visits during the spring and early summer AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. During these visits we will locate and eliminate new nests that may be present on the treated areas and on the higher elevations of the home. We will remove any nests we find, retreat area(s) to prevent future activity and provide you with a report of our inspection findings. The combination of preventative applications plus the additional services provides a season-long approach to keep your home free of stinging insect nests. Carpenter Bees & Yellow Jacket Prevention Included The treatment also deters Carpenter Bees from tunneling into wood. If Carpenter Bees have been a problem in the past these areas will also be treated (1st and 2nd stories). In the areas we have treated, Carpenter Bees will be deterred from tunneling into wood. Yellow Jackets are also deterred from nesting in wall voids of the structure in treated areas. Yellow Jackets are deterred from nesting in wall voids of the structure. As a result Cooper is able to provide protection for these additional stinging insects at no additional cost. Service Calls Are Free If Wasps, Carpenter Bees or Yellow Jackets nest in or on the structure, Cooper Pest Control will treat these areas at no additional charge. All you need to do is call and we will respond promptly to your request. THE BASICS OF WASP PREVENTION The goal of Cooper's Wasp prevention program is to prevent paper wasps from building their nests on homes, decks, swing sets, storage sheds, etc. By being able to prevent the building of nests, the presence of Wasps on the structure is reduced. Our programs are tailored to include prevention in the areas of your home and yard that you feel are important. Wasps, Yellow Jackets and Carpenter Bees all share a common behavior of assessing the suitability of a surface prior to building the nest. Areas prone to nest establishment are treated using a material which repels wasps when they land, making the surface an undesirable location to build a nest. One treatment will prevent nest development for up to six months. The two additional services insure that nests in unusual or high locations are eliminated as they begin to develop. Additional insects covered under the Preventive Treatment Program includes Yellow jackets nesting in wall voids as well as Carpenter Bees. AREAS OF THE HOME TREATED TO PREVENT WASPS,CARPENTER BEES AND YELLOW JACKETS First Story Soffits First Story Gutters First Story Windows Corners or edges of structure Behind Shutters (First & Second Story) Meter boxes Light Fixtures attached to structure Dryer Vents ... and other areas specific to your home WHEN SHOULD WASP PREVENTION BEGIN? The earlier in the Spring, the better. Wasps begin building their nests in April, thus preventive programs initiated early in the year will discourage Wasps from building their nests in areas which have been treated. Programs which are initiated later in the season may also require reactive measures in order to control the Wasps which have already established their nests on the structure or within soffits and wall voids. Once the active nests are treated the prevention treatment will be made.
